Ok - here we go. You may of seen these 'Framless Shelves' on the net and small scale @ B&Q and Ikea. They are very trick and ultra clean and are very impressive.

This client wanted 3 - but they turned out to be 2.5 meters long ! I looked around to see if we could get some ready made and spoke to some specialists in Oak Frameless Shelves who advised against using this material - due to the weight. Securing them was going to be they key even with a lightweight material they would be some weight issues, and that's before anything was put on them.

We were aslo undecided on the overall finish - clear stain / stained or painted ? and then what colour ? and then what final finish ?

Sometimes you have to ''go with the flow'' and after much debate we've ended up with a ''Sail White'' ( off white matt with a touch of grey ) painted finish.

Client was really happy with the overall finish and they look stunning in this front room.

A close up on the same idea, with a clear wax finish.

I decided to use clear wax instead of a stain as it gives a more natural finish, and as this is in a bathroom the wax will work better. A clear finish also brings out the natural wood grain of the timber.

All finished now - these are smaller than the front room versions and only 1.3 meters long. I've not changed the wood thickness, we wanted to retain the chunky look.

All done now.

You can see how the natural finish matches the tiles and corner bath. A fresh coat of white paint on the walls finishes this bathroom.

If you'd like some Frameless Shelves please contact me. As you can see sizes can vary, as well as finishes to create your ideal look.

Although these were installed on to traditional stone/ brick walls, if you have a timber frame constructed house they can be accomodated as well.

If unsure please give me a shout and I'll call round and sort it.
